Hello my fellow foodies. I’ve been under the weather and out of the restaurant game for a solid two weeks! I took today off of work to rest up and was walking around enjoying this beautiful day when I had a hankering for pizza. To be honest, I always want pizza. Probably seven out of seven days a week. I’m surprised I haven’t blogged about it yet.
So, where do you go, during lunch, alone, to grab a quick piece of pizza? I remembered this place called Blaze Pizza had just opened up down the street months back and I always wanted to check it out to see what it was like. Their promise – fast fire’d pizza in just 180 seconds was true. I walked in, ordered a pepperoni pizza with onions and red peppers, paid for my order, got my drink, and by the time I sat down they were already calling my name for my pizza.
Now how was it? I’d say average. It’s equivalent to a homemade pizza pie you’d put together with fixings at your house. The two pros to it are how fast the pizza is ready and the fact that you choose what goes on it. One of the women making my pizza asked me if I wanted salt. I looked at her like she had two heads, but then thought about it and I’m sure normal pizza places do put salt on their pizza. Hold off the sodium please! Now, if only they sold this after midnight and delivered in 3 minutes, not after I’ve passed out waiting for 1.5 hrs. Goodness gracious delivery in the city- you are a pain! I’d also say a pro to the establishment I visited (Streeterville) was the fact that the employees were very polite and cordial.
Lastly, they do have a ‘dessert’ which they call the S’more pie which they will also heat up for you. A whopping $2.00, it’s a sad sad s’more. Don’t do it.
